Daman is well-connected by road but relies on neighboring hubs for air and rail transport. The city is just 12 kilometers away from Vapi (in Gujarat), which serves as the nearest major railway station on the busy Mumbai-Ahmedabad line. National Highway 48 (NH48) runs close to Daman, providing excellent road connectivity to Mumbai (about 170 km away) and Surat (about 120 km away).
Public transit within Daman is primarily facilitated by auto-rickshaws, shared taxis, and local buses. Two bridges over the Daman Ganga River (the Rajiv Gandhi Setu and a newer bridge) connect Nani and Moti Daman, easing local traffic.
Daman has an airport, primarily used as a Coast Guard Air Station. It occasionally hosts limited civilian flights, but most travelers fly into Surat International Airport or Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai and drive to Daman.
