Daman is home to a diverse religious community. Hinduism is the majority religion, with prominent temples like the **Somnath Mahadev Temple** drawing regular worshippers. Due to over 400 years of Portuguese rule, there is a significant Roman Catholic minority; the **Bom Jesus Church** and the **Church of Our Lady of the Sea** are central to this community. The city also hosts active Muslim and Jain populations, notably featuring a beautifully carved Jain temple situated in Nani Daman and the historic Jama Masjid.
