Civic administration in Raigarh is governed by the Raigarh Municipal Corporation (RMC). The corporation is headed by a Mayor—elected by the public—and a Municipal Commissioner, who is a state-appointed bureaucratic officer responsible for executive functions.
The city is divided into multiple wards, each represented by an elected Corporator. These local representatives manage basic public services, including water supply (largely from the Kelo Dam), sanitation, solid waste management, and local road maintenance.
At the state and national levels, the city falls under the Raigarh Vidhan Sabha (State Assembly) constituency and the Raigarh Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituency.
