Korba experiences a tropical wet and dry climate (Köppen climate classification: *Aw*). The weather is generally divided into three distinct seasons: a scorching summer, a heavy monsoon, and a mild winter.
Summers (April to June) are famously intense, with temperatures frequently soaring past 42°C (108°F), a heat occasionally exacerbated by the proximity of large-scale open-cast coal mines. The monsoon season (July to September) brings substantial and vital rainfall, turning the surrounding forests a brilliant green and cooling the region significantly. Winters (November to February) are highly pleasant, with daytime temperatures hovering around 25°C (77°F) and cool nights, making this the best time of year to visit.
