Government

Because the Rock Garden is a public attraction rather than a residential municipality, it does not have a traditional civic government. It is administered and maintained by the Rock Garden Society in collaboration with the Chandigarh Administration (a Union Territory government directly under the central government of India). The Society is responsible for preserving Nek Chand's legacy, managing the workforce that maintains the sculptures, handling ticket revenue, and funding ongoing restoration projects.
