Patna's infrastructure is undergoing rapid modernization. Electricity is supplied by the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL), which has significantly improved power availability in recent years, moving away from the chronic shortages of the past.
Water supply is managed by the Patna Municipal Corporation, relying heavily on groundwater extraction and treated water from the Ganges. The city's sewerage system is currently receiving a massive overhaul under the central government's 'Namami Gange' project, which aims to build new sewage treatment plants to stop untreated waste from entering the river.
Telecommunications infrastructure is robust, with excellent 4G and expanding 5G networks provided by major carriers like Jio, Airtel, and BSNL. High-speed broadband and fiber-optic internet are widely available across commercial zones and residential neighborhoods.
