Weather & climate

Tinsukia experiences a humid subtropical climate (Köppen: *Cwa*), heavily influenced by the Indian monsoon.

* **Summers/Monsoons (April–September):** Characterized by high temperatures (averaging 25°C to 32°C), extreme humidity, and heavy, sustained rainfall. The monsoon peaks between June and August. * **Winters (December–February):** Winters are mild, dry, and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 22°C, making it the most comfortable time of year. * **Best Time to Visit:** October to March, when the weather is cool, dry, and ideal for wildlife tourism and exploring the tea gardens.

Because of its location and climate, the city occasionally experiences localized flooding and is situated in a high-risk seismic zone (Zone V), making it susceptible to earthquakes.
