Geography

Tinsukia is located in Upper Assam, situated in the fertile plains of the Brahmaputra Valley. The city is flanked by a network of rivers; the mighty Brahmaputra flows to the north, fed by major tributaries like the Lohit and the Dibang.

The surrounding geography is dominated by vast, rolling tea estates and dense evergreen forests. To the north lies the Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, an important riverine island and biosphere reserve. The geography is characterized by high water tables and a lush, green landscape year-round, sustained by the region's substantial rainfall.
