Weather & climate

Nagaon experiences a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification *Cwa*), defined by hot, humid summers, abundant monsoonal rainfall, and cool, dry winters.

Summer begins in April, with temperatures ranging from 28°C to 35°C (82°F to 95°F), accompanied by high humidity. The monsoon season, driven by the southwest monsoon, spans from June to September. During this period, the city receives heavy downpours, averaging around 1,750 mm to 2,000 mm of annual rainfall. Flooding and waterlogging are common natural challenges during these months.

Winter, lasting from November to February, is generally mild, dry, and pleasant, with temperatures dropping to an average low of 10°C to 12°C (50°F to 54°F). The period between October and March is widely considered the best time to visit Nagaon, as the weather is cool and skies are clear.
