Nagaon boasts robust connectivity by road and rail, making it an accessible transit hub. The city is connected to the East-West Corridor via National Highway 27 (formerly NH 37), which links it directly to Guwahati (approx. 120 km away), Tezpur, and upper Assam.
The city is served by two main railway stations: Nagaon Railway Station and Haibargaon Railway Station, operating passenger and express trains connecting to Guwahati, Lumding, and beyond.
For air travel, the nearest major airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, about a 3-hour drive away. Tezpur Airport is closer but offers limited commercial flights.
Intra-city public transport relies heavily on auto-rickshaws, shared tempos, and an increasing fleet of electric rickshaws (e-rickshaws), which have become the most popular and eco-friendly way to navigate the city's narrow lanes.
