Majuli's infrastructure is tailored to its rural, flood-prone environment. Embankments and dykes form the most critical infrastructure on the island, designed to hold back the annual floods of the Brahmaputra.
Electricity is provided via the state grid, and there has been a significant push toward solar lighting in remote villages. Water supply traditionally relies on river water, ponds, and tube wells, though government piped water schemes are increasingly being implemented. Telecommunications and cellular networks (4G) are functional across most of the island, though broadband internet is mostly limited to town centers like Garamur and Kamalabari. Healthcare infrastructure relies on the Sri Sri Pitambar Deva Goswami Civil Hospital and smaller primary health centers.
