Politically, Majuli constitutes a single legislative assembly constituency (Majuli LAC) which falls under the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency. The district government operates out of the headquarters in Garamur. Public services have seen gradual improvement since the area's district status was granted, with a specific focus on flood control, embankments, and rural healthcare.
