Majuli's calendar is vibrant, filled with festivals that showcase its unique cultural heritage.

* **Raas Mahotsav (November):** The most magnificent festival on the island, celebrating the life of Lord Krishna. The Sattras come alive with classical dances, Bhaona (theater), and thousands of devotees and tourists. * **Ali-Aye-Ligang (February/March):** A major agricultural festival of the Mishing tribe, marking the onset of the seed-sowing season with traditional *Gumrag* dances and feasts. * **Majuli Festival (Winter):** Organized by the tourism department, this event showcases local art, craft, food, and cultural performances to visitors. * **Bihu:** Like the rest of Assam, the three Bihu festivals (Rongali, Kongali, and Bhogali) are celebrated with great enthusiasm and communal feasts.
