Kaziranga is primarily organized around the administrative and entry "Ranges" of the National Park and nearby towns: * **Kohora (Central Range):** The commercial and administrative heart of Kaziranga. It features the highest concentration of hotels, restaurants, and the main entry point for most tourist safaris. * **Bagori (Western Range):** Located a few kilometers west of Kohora, this area is highly popular for rhino spotting and has a growing cluster of eco-tourism accommodations. * **Agaratoli (Eastern Range):** A quieter, more rural section known for its dense woodlands, wetland birds, and a less commercialized atmosphere. * **Burapahar (Ghorakati):** The first range encountered when arriving from Guwahati, known for its hilly terrain, trekking routes, and nearby tea gardens. * **Bokakhat:** A bustling town about 23 km east of Kohora that serves as the major local market, medical center, and civil administrative hub for the region.
