Weather & climate

Goalpara experiences a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification *Cwa*), characterized by distinct seasons: a warm and humid summer, a heavy monsoon, and a mild, pleasant winter.

Summers (March to May) are warm, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 33°C (77°F to 91°F), often accompanied by pre-monsoon thunderstorms locally known as *Bordoisila*. The monsoon season (June to September) brings torrential rainfall, heavily swelling the Brahmaputra and occasionally causing flooding in low-lying areas. Humidity remains extremely high during these months. Winters (November to February) are mild and dry, with average temperatures dropping to a comfortable 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F). The best time to visit Goalpara is during the winter months when the weather is cool and the skies are clear.
