Weather & climate

Dibrugarh features a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification: Cwa), heavily influenced by the Southwest Monsoon. The city experiences distinct seasons: a warm, humid, and extremely wet summer, and a mild, dry, and pleasant winter.

Summer temperatures (April to September) typically range from 25°C to 34°C (77°F to 93°F). This period brings immense rainfall, often exceeding 2,500 mm (100 inches) annually, making it one of the wettest regions in India. The heavy monsoons occasionally trigger flooding and waterlogging in low-lying areas.

Winters (November to February) are highly agreeable, with average temperatures dropping to between 9°C and 22°C (48°F to 72°F). Humidity drops significantly, and morning fog is common. The best time to visit Dibrugarh is between October and March, when the weather is cool and the skies are largely clear.
