Agriculture

While agriculture is not practiced within the municipal limits, Dhubri city serves as the primary market for the agricultural abundance of the surrounding district.

The region's fertile alluvial soil supports intensive farming. Major crops include rice (both Kharif and Rabi varieties), jute, and mustard. Jute remains a major cash crop, continuing a legacy that dates back to the British era. Other significant agricultural products include wheat, maize, pulses, potatoes, and various vegetables. Traditional fishing in the Brahmaputra and adjacent wetlands is also heavily tied to the local food production economy.
