Population

As of the last official census in 2011, Pasighat had a population of 24,656, though current estimates place the population significantly higher due to urbanization, educational migration, and its status as a Smart City.

The demographic landscape is primarily composed of the indigenous Adi tribe (including sub-groups like the Minyong, Padam, and Pasis). There is also a substantial population of residents from other parts of India who work in government, commerce, and defense sectors.

The community practices a mix of religions. The indigenous Donyi-Polo faith (worship of the Sun and Moon) remains a vital cultural force, alongside significant populations of Christians and Hindus. Adi is the primary local language, while Hindi functions as the principal lingua franca, and English is widely used in administration and education.
