Reaching Anini is an adventure in itself. The town is connected by road to Roing (the headquarters of the neighboring Lower Dibang Valley district) via National Highway 313. This roughly 230-kilometer drive is notoriously challenging, winding through steep, landslide-prone mountain passes (like the Mayudia Pass). The Border Roads Organization (BRO) continually maintains and upgrades this highway.
There is no railway or commercial airport in Anini. The nearest railhead is at Tinsukia in Assam, and the nearest major airport is in Dibrugarh, Assam—both of which require a full day's drive to reach. For emergency transport, VIP movement, and rapid connectivity, the government operates a subsidized Pawan Hans helicopter service from Dibrugarh/Naharlagun to the Anini helipad, though flights are highly dependent on clear weather.
