Weather & climate

Havelock experiences a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification: *Am*). The weather is consistently warm and humid year-round, with average temperatures ranging between 22°C (71°F) and 32°C (89°F).

The year is divided into three main seasons: * **Summer (March to May):** Warm and sunny, ideal for diving due to excellent underwater visibility. * **Monsoon (June to September):** Brings heavy, torrential downpours. High winds and rough seas often disrupt ferry services, making this the off-season for tourism. * **Winter (October to February):** The best time to visit, characterized by pleasant sea breezes, clear skies, and calm waters.

Havelock is situated in a seismically active zone and is vulnerable to tropical cyclones and tsunamis; the island experienced significant tremors and coastal changes during the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.
