Neighborhoods

Havelock is traditionally divided into numbered "villages" or beaches, which serve as its de facto neighborhoods: * **Govind Nagar (Beach No. 1, 2, 3):** The bustling gateway to the island. It houses the main ferry jetty, the primary market, ATM facilities, and a dense concentration of dive shops and budget lodgings. * **Shyam Nagar (Beach No. 4):** Located slightly inland, this is a quieter, more residential village with a strong local community feel and small farms. * **Vijaynagar (Beach No. 5):** The eastern coastal strip, renowned for its long line of upscale resorts, cafes, and shallow, calm waters ideal for relaxing. * **Radhanagar (Beach No. 7):** Located on the western coast, this area is less densely populated but home to the island's most famous beach and a few highly exclusive, luxury eco-resorts. * **Krishna Nagar:** A growing village area connecting the eastern resorts to the western side of the island, featuring homestays and local businesses.
