Weather & climate

Diglipur experiences a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification *Am*). The weather is consistently warm and highly humid throughout the year. Temperatures generally range between 23°C (73°F) and 32°C (90°F), with very little seasonal variation in temperature.

The region receives heavy rainfall, averaging over 3,000 mm annually, primarily driven by the southwest and northeast monsoons. The rainy season typically lasts from May to November, during which the seas can be rough and transportation may be disrupted. The best time to visit is during the dry season, from December to April, when the weather is pleasant, the skies are clear, and the seas are calm enough for ferries and water activities. Cyclonic storms are a natural risk, primarily occurring in the Bay of Bengal during the transition months of the monsoon.
