Paro features a humid subtropical to highland climate (Köppen climate classification *Cwb*), heavily influenced by its elevation. Summers (June to August) are mild to warm, with high temperatures averaging around 24°C to 26°C (75°F to 79°F), though this is also the monsoon season, bringing the majority of the region's annual rainfall.
Winters (December to February) are dry, clear, and cold. While daytime temperatures are pleasant and sunny, nighttime temperatures routinely drop below freezing, sometimes plunging to -5°C (23°F) or lower, with occasional snowfall. The best times to visit Paro are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the skies are brilliant blue, the temperatures are moderate, and the valley is either blooming with wildflowers or golden with the harvest.
