Dhaka is a city of immense religious devotion, predominantly Muslim but with a rich history of religious pluralism.

* **Islam:** Known as the "City of Mosques," Dhaka is home to the majestic **Baitul Mukarram National Mosque**, the architecturally stunning **Star Mosque (Tara Masjid)**, and the historic **Khan Mohammad Mridha Mosque**. It also hosts the Biswa Ijtema, one of the largest peaceful gatherings of Muslims in the world, on the banks of the Turag River. * **Hinduism:** The **Dhakeshwari National Temple** is the most significant Hindu place of worship in the country, and the Ramakrishna Mission is a prominent center of spiritual and social work. * **Christianity & Others:** The **Holy Rosary Church** in Tejgaon is one of the oldest in the region. The **Armenian Church** in Old Dhaka stands as a testament to the city's historical Armenian trading community. A small but active Buddhist community gathers at the Dharmarajika Bauddha Bihar.
